Monkey and Rat has not gone through our rig yet. When it does, the full recorded session appears here: balance curve, hit rate, best win and the longest dry streak, published next to the official RTP above. Until then this page carries Playtech's own figures and a playable demo, and nothing of ours.

Monkey and Rat arrives as a May 2021 release from Playtech, distinguished most immediately by its high RTP. At 97.52%, this Chinese Zodiac-themed slot sits well above the ~96% industry benchmark, offering statistical value that offsets some of the limitations elsewhere in its design.
The core loop revolves around three mechanics. Wild symbols substitute for regular pay symbols to complete winning combinations, and Respins grant additional spins. The Free Spins feature, when reached, extends play without further stakes.
The trade-off for that 97.52% RTP comes in volatility. Monkey and Rat runs high, meaning dry spells between wins are longer and bankroll swings more pronounced. Sessions demand patience and adequate headroom. The max win caps at 888x, a modest ceiling somewhat at odds with the high-volatility profile. Players chasing outsized wins will find the ceiling limiting; those prioritizing RTP over explosive potential may accept the compromise.
Playtech anchors Monkey and Rat in Chinese Zodiac symbolism, with the Animals theme providing the visual vocabulary. The atmosphere leans traditional rather than experimental, with a general aesthetic of cultural celebration.
Monkey and Rat earns its 6/10 rating through contradiction: above-average RTP married to high volatility and a constrained max win. The math model suits players who value long-term return over adrenaline, though the 888x ceiling undercuts some of the volatility's usual appeal. Playtech has built a competent, if conservative, Zodiac slot. The free demo remains the best way to gauge whether the game matches your preferences.
